Getting advertisers for your screen
Where to find your screen's link, QR code and signs to print, who to ask, what to say, and where to put the QR code.
Advertisers find your screen on /discover, but the businesses most likely to book it are the ones around you: they already know your venue and your customers. Every screen has its own link and QR code so you can tell them about it.
Where to find your link, QR code and signs
Open the screen's Get advertisers page. There are two ways in:
- On your screens home (
/my-screens), press Get advertisers on the screen's card. - Or open Tools and choose Get advertisers (
/my-screens/get-advertisers). If you have more than one screen, pick the screen first.
On that page:
- Your screen's link is a short address: redsquare.app/s/ followed by your screen's seven-character code. Copy link copies it; Share sends it by text, email, WhatsApp or anything else your phone can share to (where sharing isn't available, it copies the link instead).
- Your QR code (a scannable square barcode) opens the same page. Download QR code saves it as a picture for your menu, flyers or social posts.
- Print a counter card and Print a window sign print a small card for the counter or a big sign for a window or door, each with the QR code, your venue's name and the short link. Choose English or Spanish under Sign language. The signs never name a price, so they stay right whatever your screen costs.
- Send it to a local business has a short message with your link in it, ready to copy.
In the Android app, the QR button is Save or share QR code: it opens your phone's sharing options with the picture, so you can save it or send it. The app can't print, so it has no print buttons or Sign language choice: to print the counter card or the window sign, open this page on redsquare.app in a web browser.
The link never changes, so anything you print keeps working. While your screen is taking bookings, whoever opens it lands on your screen's page, where they see what it costs and can book it. While it isn't (it has no TV yet, you have paused it, or House only is on), they are told the screen isn't taking bookings right now and can look for other screens to book, and the page says so beside your link; it works again as soon as the screen takes bookings.
Who to ask
Start with the people who already know your venue:
- The businesses next door and on your street. Their customers walk past your door.
- Your suppliers and their reps: the brewery, the distributor, the bakery. Their products are already on your shelves or your menu.
- Regulars who run a business: the realtor, the contractor, the salon, the gym.
- Local events and services: classes, shows, open houses, new openings.
What to say
Keep it short:
- Your customers watch this TV, and their ad plays on it between others.
- They book the screen and upload their ad themselves on RedSquare.
- You decide what plays on your screen: you approve each ad yourself, or let ads be approved automatically.
The message on the Get advertisers page says this for you, and what it says about the price follows what is true for your screen today. Show them the TV, or the QR code on your counter, while you talk.
Where to put the QR code
- On the counter or by the register, where people wait. The counter card is made for it.
- On the door or the front window, for people walking past. Use the window sign.
- On table tents and menus, if you print your own.
- Near the TV, so someone who notices an ad there can book their own.
- In your social posts and emails, as the downloaded picture or the link.
When your TV has nothing else to play, it can show an Advertise on this screen card with a QR code of its own. A printed sign keeps working while the TV is busy.
Make your screen easy to book
- Set your real opening hours, so the hours advertisers can book are the hours people see the screen.
- Set your content rules up front, under Which ads you accept in the screen's settings, so you can say yes quickly.
- Answer advertisers' messages quickly, including a question from a business that hasn't booked yet.
