Refund Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
This page explains how refunds work on RedSquare, the marketplace operated by Ascend Leads, LLC. It restates the refund terms in our Terms of Service and how the product applies them.
Right now: nothing is charged
While we grow the network, every booking is free and no payment is taken: nothing is charged to advertisers and nothing is paid out to screen owners, so there is nothing to refund. The rest of this page applies once paid ad time opens, which happens when the network reaches 50 live screens and payments are set up; we will tell you before it does.
Who you pay
Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal and go to the screen owner directly. The screen owner sells the screen time and is the merchant of record for your payment; RedSquare keeps a 20% platform fee from the screen time and passes payment processing through at cost. A refund is paid from the screen owner's payout account, and RedSquare returns its 20% fee on any screen time that is refunded.
Before your ad first plays
- You can cancel a booking until the ad first plays — until its first play is counted or the first hour you booked begins, whichever comes first. You are refunded in full, including payment processing.
- The screen owner can decline a booking until it first plays. You are refunded in full, automatically, and told the reason.
- On a screen whose owner approves each booking, a booking that is not approved within 24 hours is cancelled and refunded in full.
After your ad has started
- Once the ad has first played, the booking can no longer be cancelled.
- Every play that did not run is refunded automatically, pro-rata, when the booking ends: that play's share of the screen-time price. Plays are counted from the screen's own record of what it played.
- If the screen owner releases the remaining hours of a booking, those hours are refunded the same way. If they do so before your ad first plays, your payment processing is refunded too.
Other full refunds
- If a screen owner deletes a screen, every booking on it that has not finished is cancelled and refunded in full: everything you paid that has not already been refunded, processing included.
- If our team cancels a paid booking, it is refunded in full: everything you paid that has not already been refunded, processing included, even if the ad had started playing.
How a refund reaches you
- Refunds are sent automatically; you do not need to ask for one.
- A refund goes back the way you paid: to your PayPal account for a PayPal payment, or to your card for a card payment.
- A card refund typically appears within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank. A PayPal refund shows in your PayPal account once it is sent; PayPal returns it the way the payment was funded, which can take a few business days more.
For screen owners
- Refunds come out of your payout account's balance. For missed plays and released hours, what you lose is your 80% share of them.
- You can dispute any refund on your screens within 7 days, from your earnings page. Our staff check the screen's reports. If a dispute is upheld, the decision is recorded and both sides are told; no money moves: the refund is not reversed and nothing is paid to you. After 7 days a refund is final.
