    Approving advertiser bookings

Auto vs manual mode, content rules, and how declining works.

    Screen Management
    5 min

Two modes — pick what fits your venue. The switch is Approval mode, on your screen's Price settings (/my-screens/:id/settings/pricing).

    Auto mode (default)

An advertiser can only book an ad that has passed our automated review, in a category your screen's content rules allow. They pay when they book, and the booking is confirmed straight away: its plays are reserved in the hours they chose. You don't have to do anything.

You can still decline a booking until it first plays. The advertiser is then refunded in full, from your balance.

Auto is right for most screens. The platform handles the policy floor; your content rules handle anything specific to your venue.

    Manual mode

Every new booking waits in the Needs you strip at the top of /my-screens (and in your inbox) until you approve or decline it. The advertiser has already paid. If you decline, or don't answer within 24 hours, the booking is cancelled and they're refunded in full — you earn only from the bookings you approve.

    Reasons to use manual:

    • Your venue has specific tone restrictions our policy doesn't capture.
    • You want to vet new advertisers personally before letting them on the screen.
    • You're testing a new screen and want to learn what advertisers are sending.

Manual mode adds friction (advertisers wait for you), and how quickly you answer is part of your reliability score. Aim to clear the queue at least daily.

    Content rules

Open your screen's Content rules settings (/my-screens/:id/settings/rules) to rule out what you don't want: alcohol, political ads, content depicting minors, gambling, adult content, and tobacco / vaping. The same page lists the file formats your screen accepts. Advertisers see your rules on your screen's page, and an ad in a category you've ruled out can't be booked on your screen — in either mode.

There's no way to block a single advertiser; decline their bookings instead.

    Decline reasons

Declining asks you to tell the advertiser why, and they see your words on their campaign page. A specific reason helps them fix their ad or pick another screen; a vague one ("doesn't fit") leaves them guessing.
