    Setting up your first screen

One trip to the TV: the code, one form, and payouts.

    Getting Started
    8 min

You'll go from "I just signed up" to "advertisers can find my screen" in about ten minutes. You go to the TV once. Registering the screen, connecting the TV, and confirming where the screen is all happen in the same step — you never walk back and forth.

    Before you start

Have the Screen Player running on the TV. If it isn't installed yet, redsquare.app/setup-redsquare has the steps for every device we support. Then stand at the screen with your phone.

    1. Add your screen

Go to redsquare.app/add-screen (or tap Add screen on your dashboard). The TV is showing a short code — type it in. That's the first thing we ask for. If you scan the QR the TV shows, the code is filled in for you.

    Then one short form:

    • Venue type (coffee shop, bar, gym, salon…). This pre-fills everything else — operating hours, accepted formats, suggested price.
    • Name and address. Type the address; we find the map pin from it when you save. If several places match, you pick one. Advertisers search by neighbourhood, so this is what puts you on their map.
    • Free or paid, then your price per 10-second play and hours, pre-filled from your venue type. Change them or leave them.

Press Finish setup and allow the location prompt once. That single step registers the screen, connects the TV, and confirms the screen is where you said it is.

You'll see one of two results:

    • "Your TV is live" — everything passed. One thing left: payouts.
    • "Your TV is set up" — the screen is registered and the TV is connected, but we could not confirm the location (you declined the prompt, or your phone reported a spot too far from the address). It tells you the distance and where to finish. This never undoes the pairing — you do not have to go back to the TV.

If the code was used up while you were typing, the TV shows a new one. Press Enter the new code; everything else you typed is kept.

    2. Set up payouts

Go to Get paid (/onboard?step=payouts) and connect the account you'll be paid into. RedSquare pays owners through PayPal or Stripe, and the step shows which you can connect right now. Your payout provider asks for your legal name and bank details and checks your identity. Each advertiser's payment goes straight to that account — RedSquare never holds your money. Once payouts are connected — and your screen's location is confirmed — the screen becomes visible to advertisers.

A free screen doesn't need payouts at all: the step says so, and you can add a payout account whenever you start charging.

You can do this later. Your screens home (/my-screens) keeps a checklist at the top showing exactly what's outstanding, with one button that takes you to the right page. It disappears once you're done.

Don't have the TV ready yet?

redsquare.app/register-screen saves the screen's details as a draft. It isn't bookable until a TV is connected to it, and the dashboard checklist will show Connect your TV as your next step.

    Fixing the address later

Screen Settings → Where this screen is lets you edit the address and move the map pin any time. Moving the pin to a genuinely different place clears the location confirmation — the check proves someone stood at that pin — so run it again afterwards.

    What happens next

    • Advertisers see your screen on /discover and start booking.
    • Bookings appear on your dashboard on their own. Screens set up this way accept bookings automatically, so there is nothing to approve and nothing to watch for. You can still decline a booking until it first plays.
    • Each booking's money lands in your payout account when the advertiser pays. Stripe then pays your bank on its schedule, which you manage in Stripe; PayPal pays it into your PayPal balance. Your earnings are at /my-screens/earnings, and a per-screen tax summary at /earnings/tax-documents.
